About us
Kopano Collective was formed as a stokvel in June 2019 and incorporated as a 100% black-owned investment company. We saw an opportunity to participate in the economy by raising funds through crowdfunding.
In the past, stokvels were started solely for the purpose of buying consumable goods, however our stokvel will use the company as an investment vehicle to invest in critical sectors of the economy through assets ownership and wealth creation for our shareholders.

Our Investment Portfolio
We have a diverse portfolio in strategic sectors that aim to solve the current and future economic crisis. Our investment strategy is to partner with companies with a history of delivering profitable returns for passive investment in the short term period with the mandate to acquire ownership of assets and operational control of these sectors as a long term goal.
Agriculture
The demand to feed over a 60 million people is at an all-time high and food security has declined. Owning the means of production for what we consume and keeping farmers in the business is a sustainable investment for our communities. We aim to do that through our livestock and crop farming investment.
Real Estate
Property ownership is an income generating asset to ensure long term financial security and to build wealth for generations to come.
Equity
The main benefits from the equity investment is acquiring a stake in various companies with the aim to increase the value of the principle amount invested for long term gain.
Financial Sector
We need to be owners of capital through savings, secured investments and shareholding in order to actively participate in social and economic growth and through our investment in mutual bank, we will achieve this.
Infrastructure
Commercial sales for renewable energy for homes and businesses are increasing due to the absorbent costs of electricity and load shedding. Solar cells will solve consumer’s need for affordable, convenient and uninterrupted power supply.
Our Membership
We have over a 1000 members who are shareholders of the company.
Our commitment is to empower and transform the lives of our shareholders despite their social and economic backgrounds.
The benefits of being a shareholder is not only the returns through affordable investment contributions of R50 a month but to encourage skills development for job opportunities within the organization.
